Vanessa Kent

An ambitious, experienced and motivated senior graphic apparel designer, buyer and trend forecaster looking for an enriching and challenging opportunity with a fast paced fashion brand.

With drive and determination, from 2000-2007 she competed internationally and represented Canada at the World Synchronized Skating Championships. While attending high school and simultaneously beginning her modelling career. Where she quickly realized her love for fashion went much deeper and her dreams of creation and design were born.

Vanessa moved to Toronto, ON in 2009 to study fashion design at The Academy of Design – RCC Institute of Technology. Competing in local and national design competitions, she grew her portfolio and gained an internship with the Canadian fashion brand See No Label out of the Toronto Fashion Incubator.

In 2013 Vanessa began her corporate career as the Menswear Designer for Bluenotes, under the parent company YM Inc. Excelling in print design, trend forecasting and planning, she was quickly promoted to Senior Design Manager. A born leader, Vanessa, was selected as the Fashion Director for West 49, a growing subsidiary of YM Inc. Working closely with the owner, it wasn’t long before Vanessa began her position as Trend Forecaster for all of YM Inc. Traveling the world and staying deeply immersed in the world of popular culture.
